|Keto Dark Chocolate Whipped Cream
Over the Christmas holiday I did a lot of reading about the Keto diet. Basically it's a high protein, high fat, low carb and no sugar diet. Cutting carbs has given me good results in the past when I wanted to shed a few pounds so I thought this sounded like a good thing for me to try. My goal is 1 month Keto, just as a sort of internal reset. I had plenty to be focused on this past year and unfortunately my eating habits fell by the wayside.
To be honest, I haven't missed the grains. I don't miss pasta, bread, rice, or tortillas. Okay, I kind of miss tortilla chips... but MAN, cutting the dessert after dinner has been hard!
We're a dessert family! We eat dinner together, then clear the plates and set out the ice cream bowls!
So I've been experimenting and whipped up something tasty and keto friendly! Dark Chocolate Whipped Cream! Honestly, I've been eating this by the spoonful after dinner and having a dollop in my coffee in the morning. It's delicious!
Dark Chocolate Whipped Cream
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1 tsp Truvia no calorie sweetener
1 tbs unsweetened cocoa powder
Whip all ingredients together with a hand mixer until fluffy.
Optional: add some unsweetened shredded coconut
